Hello, I'm Em

I live and work on the coast between Blenheim and Kaikōura, in rural Marlborough. I know what running a business in a small community actually looks like: wearing every hat, making decisions on your own, and never quite having time for the paperwork.

The name is deliberate. I am not "Em the expert" and I do not arrive with a briefcase and a lecture. I work beside you, in your business, on the things that will actually make a difference. My background is practical, built from real experience with real small businesses, and that is exactly what I offer: practical support, in plain language.

Why I do this

I started Em by Your Side because too many small business owners are doing it alone. Not because they want to, but because good practical support is hard to find outside the main centres, and much of what is on offer is wrapped in jargon and priced for corporates.

I am careful by nature. I work from structured checklists and reference materials I have built myself, because I never want to miss something important for a client. You get the benefit of that: thorough, methodical support with nothing left to chance.

Where I work

I am based between Blenheim and Kaikōura and work with businesses across Marlborough, Kaikōura and the wider South Island. Being rural myself, I am well set up to work by phone and video as well as in person, so distance is rarely a problem.
